Je suis Nicolas Franka, économiste, conférencier et explorateur de systèmes. Depuis plus de dix ans, j’analyse comment la monnaie, les institutions et nos modes de gouvernance façonnent le pouvoir collectif. Je développe et j’accompagne des initiatives qui réinventent notre rapport à l’argent — de la création de monnaies locales aux recherches sur les systèmes monétaires complémentaires.

Mon objectif est clair : redonner du pouvoir d’agir aux territoires, aux communautés et aux citoyens, afin de construire une économie plus juste, plus démocratique et plus résiliente.

For more than ten years, I have been questioning what seems untouchable: money, governance, and the way we organize our collective lives.

I design alternatives – local currencies, payment systems, cooperatives, governance frameworks – that empower communities to take back control.

My approach is simple:

Dthe creation of complementary currencies in Europe and Africa, teaching monetary diversity at the University of Liège, and advising institutions, I combine research, action, and transmissionion.

JI do not believe in economics as a distant theory: I believe in the tools that can be put in the hands of citizens to build a fairer, more resilient, and joyful society.e.

Today, through the Monetary Diversity network — which brings together over 40 organizations and which I founded — I aim to build bridges between those who believe in a democratic, fair, and sustainable monetary system, one whose power serves the common good of all.

Rethinking money means reconsidering the value of things. The direction of the energy of our lives and the meaning of our actionss.

My work? Transforming these beautiful ideas into practical experimentation, tangible beyond mere wishful thinking, and thus taking action.

They take many forms and remain underutilized. Local currencies, mutuals, etc... have barely scratched the surface of their potential. With an unparalleled network of partners, I am happy to contribute to the empowerment and development of these systems.
